"It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible"
--President George Washington
September 17th, 1796
"If a nation won't be ruled by God, it will be ruled by anarchy."
--Sir Winston Churchill
I think it is evident that America is no Theocracy, and will, as long as she calls herself America, never be a Theocracy. But one day the entire world will be a Theocracy. Like it or not.
What a wonderful day that will be.

"Any government in which the leaders of the government are also the leaders of the religion and they rule as representatives of the deity."
What an inglorious day *that* would be!
However, the global theocracy I speak of in my comment is that of God's, not man's. That day IS coming, and it will not only be wonderful, but glorious as well.
And I do look forward to it...
"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven..."
I would prefere to live in a world with jesus.
Yeah, could you imagine an environment-worshipping feminist as a leader?
Read I Samuel.
That doesn't bode well for your human-intellect, Rev!
Maybe I should refer to you as "Pope" from now on.
Pope Erudite Redneck--has a ring to it!
If you find yerself greeting houseguests with: "Bless you my child", you might be an Erudite Redneck!
If you find yerself gazing into the full-length mirror in your bath-robe with arms stretched wide like some statue in Brazil, you might be an Erudite Redneck.
If you are turned on by your wife washing your feet with her hair, you might be an Erudite Redneck!
Only God knows for certain what is in each of our hearts... let Him be the judge. But for now, anyone who believes Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for the sins of the world, rose on the third day, ascended into heaven where He now sits at the right hand of God, and will soon return to earth in glory to lay claim to what He won at Calvary... is my brother, and my sister.
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
--John 13:34-35
"Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. "
--1 John 4:11
Please. I ask that it stop. A little banter never hurt anyone, but this has gotten more than a little out of hand.
When this world is run by a true theocracy, the one I meant, it WILL be global, and it will be ruled by God, in the person of Jesus... not corruptible man
I couldn't resist. The last three posts just kinda assembled themselves.
You've got to admit--the Erudite Redneck jokes were good.
And yes, they were funny. Or would have been had they not seemed so personal.
But let's also remember that ER is welcome here too... even when we disagree with him.
For myself, apologies to one and all if you've felt slighted by me. It is not my intent, but admittedly, I too can get carried away. It's happened before, and I have no doubt it'll happen again. Just kindly remind me of this moment if you feel I'm getting "snarky" (as Tony Snow would say)..
I thought the whole line of comments was funny or I wouldn't have posted them. I hope that the Reverend--or anyone else, for that matter--is not offended by it.
It was done in fun--that's all.
Much milder than the teenagerish type ridicule opposition faces at The Church of Erudite Redneck, though.
But for now--I shall retire.xspqkxg
You know--like: 10-4, over and out?
