After the indignities Michael Steele suffered at the hands of Democrats-- being pelted with Oreo's, not the least among them --Dean piles on with yet another indignity.

Saying Maryland Democratic leaders must do more to encourage black candidates so "we do not have another Michael Steele problem," Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean on Thursday criticized the state party's lack of diversity on its recent winning tickets.

Speaking at a breakfast meeting in Washington, Dean expressed concern about Steele, Maryland's black, Republican lieutenant governor, who was defeated in his quest to fill a vacated Senate seat in Tuesday's election.

"I just think we have got to do a better job in Maryland four years from now about diversity on the ticket," Dean said.

Dean exemplifies the hypocrisy of the Left. On the one hand Herr Dean says, the Republican National Committee could "get this many people of color in a single room" only by including the hotel staff-- in effect chiding Republicans for not being inclusive, of being segregationists, and yet Dean and the entire Democratic party get a free pass in treating Michael Steele like a black man who just sat down in the front of the bus, or sat at the lunch counter at Woolworths, circa 1954. Dean is a hypocrite and a boor.

Contrasting the Democratic response to a Black man from Maryland running for Senate under the Republican banner, with the Democratic championing of a black man from Tennessee under the Democratic banner, it becomes clearly obvious that the only Blacks that Democrats will allow in the hallowed halls of government are Blacks they can control. Democrats certainly don't promote blacks within their own party...

"Okay, we let you in, now sit over there and until we need you to vote... or rally the natives."

That is the attitude Democrats are projecting. It's called 'racist'... And hypocritical.

The majority of Democrats are racists. The way they discriminate against other races (and women, too) is to maintain that there is a social and cultural difference between the races, thus holding potentially great minority politicians back and down.

because I moved to Virginia too late to register in Virginia and too late to get an absentee ballot from Maryland, I had to drive the 145 miles back to Maryland in order to cast my vote for Michael Steele, which, by the way, I was proud to do as a registered "racist" Republican) I feel like other Republicans cancelled out my vote. They should be ashamed of themselves for letting the vicious lies from the left convince them to vote for the the Democrats or not to vote at all.

Re, "Dean is a hypocrite and a boor."

But, boy, he can reorganize a party and get its candidates elected, it turns out.

Sour grapes make bad whine. :-)

well, seeing as the above comment is a fabrication (or can you cite an instance wherein any dem ever made such a statement? no? i didn't think so....), the projection (and a rather racist one; "rally the natives"? that's inherently racist, el) lies entirely with you. maybe you shouldn't use that word until you better understand it....

No sour grapes here ER. I've been consistent in my criticism of Liberalism in general, and Democrats in particular for years, especially here. If anything, I'm reveling in an "I told ya so" moment.

No, not with me, Kev... with the pervasive attitude toward blacks BY Democrats.

I just don't see the racism you see among the Dems. As for the language used by Dean, I think it's the same thing that allows black folks to use the N-word with one another. This whole let's-keep-them-on-the-plantation thing that y'all think you see in the Dems is just another Rush-induced myth. And for y'all to keep suggesting the blacks are duped-tricked-fooled into voting Dem is the ultimate insult! You think they can't think for themselves? Nobody makes blacks, or anyone else, vote one way or the other, not in this country anyway.

yes, el, with you.... with your outrageous fabrications, which you fallaciously present as "proof".

or can you cite an instance....?

    clinton/god in '08!

Can you cite anywhere God has said He will be Hillary's running mate? God as Vice President? Second to a man (non gender)?

If that's not blasphemy, it's closely skirting the edges.

I think that if we all be very honest, we could admit that had a GOP'er said something along those lines, he'd have been roasted alive for being racist.

I find it offensive, no matter whose mouth it came from. I also find the use of the "n" word offensive. I noticed that ER dared not even type it, even though he was inferring the slang use of it!

Al Sharpton even condemned the use of it on the Glenn Beck TV show last week, saying that normalizing the "n" word cannot be this generation's contribution to black American culture!

It shocks and appalls me that the average black voter is so habitually used by the Democratic party that they are willing to ignore blatant racist insults by Dean. He just said that they were only good enough to clean hotel rooms, for heaven's sake!
