...by removing all official mention of Christianity's influence on the building of this nation, the United States of America.

Ten Commandments stunner: Feds lying at Supreme Court

Tourists who come to the U.S. Supreme Court are being told by their tour guides that the Frieze over the Justice's heads is really a depiction of the first ten amendments of the Bill of Rights, not of the Ten Commandments. Is this purely ignorance on the part of the tour guides or a deliberate conscious decision to sanitize our history. For, according to a 1975 handbook on the Supreme Court, the frieze is a depiction of the Ten Commandments. So, who wants to erase Christianity from the American consciousness? Three Guesses.

If that were the only story, this could be chalked up to, what? A localized event? Certainly not evidence of a larger conspiracy! Well Let's go to Jamestown, Monticello, Mt. Vernon, Ford's Theater, the Pentagon, Capitol Hill, the Holocaust Museum, Korean War Memorial, World War II Memorial Vietnam Memorial, Washington Memorial, Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln Memorial.....

Christianity being wiped from tales of U.S. history

From the article...

During [Pastor Todd DuBord's] visit at Jamestown, he said, the tour guides several times said the first settlers arrived in America "to make money."

"While this is partially true, it was not only totally overstated by its emphasis and repetition, but there was absolutely no hint of the religious purpose given and stated under the Virginia Charter of 1606, which called for the 'propagating of Christian religion to such people as yet live in darkness and miserable ignorance of the true knowledge and worship of God.'"

He said there also was absolutely no mention of the fact the colonists' first act, after having landed at Cape Henry on April 27, 1607, "was to erect a large wooden cross and hold a prayer meeting, conducted by their minister, Reverend Robert Hunt."

"As colonist George Percy noted back then, 'The nine and twentieth day we set up a cross at Chesupioc Bay, and named the place Cape Henry,'"

What does all this mean? It means America is fast becoming a Godless nation, and bowing instead to the idols of self. And where will that lead? Can you not read the road posts?

This last article puts it all into perspective.

Young adults in U.S. abandoning biblical faith

New study shows many 20-to-40-year-olds don't believe in absolute truth

A poll comparing the moral and religious views of young adults in their 20s and 30s with the views of adults over 40 shows that the young adults are abandoning the biblical faith of their elders at an alarming rate, according to the Barna Group.

Sadly, this article isn't much of an eye-opener-- If you haven't seen this on your own you're blind, AND deaf.

The question is: Do you want to live in a country that actively seeks to write God out of its own history? Too late... You're already there!

Sadly, I wouldn't know what country to move to, to get back to a more Godly nation!

Hmmm. Well, you know it's the justices themselves causing this. Sounds like a lower-level decision that sure needs to be fixed.

ER, the other explanation is that these stories are complete crap. World Net Daily is pure propaganda, and has been discredited over and over. They're just trying to stir up the ground troops with this one.

Neither is the New York Times.

Heck...they don't even mind publishing classified information that could and probably HAS harmed our efforts in the GWOT. (Really, folks...the GWOT is real!)

The problem is, WND doesn't drink your brank of Kool-Aid. If CNN or MSNBC, NYT, LA Times... etc... if none of these so-called "reputable" outlets cover the story it ain't news to you guys. If the story doesn't mirror your own ideological bent you "Pish Taw" it all. And you guys say WE need to broaden our minds...? You've just ventured into pot and kettle territory.

Sorry El, but some outlets are more reputable than others. WND is a propaganda rag and has no credibility.

To suggest that the sources you list and WND are equally reliable and just depend on your particular flavor of Kool-Aid is a kind of relativism. It implies there is no such thing as journalistic standards or integrity. In other words, the truth is whatever you want it to be.

Sorry Sol, you just described the New York Times-- no journalistic standards or integrity... The truth is whatever they want it to be. On top of which, they consistently skirt the borders of treason, while calling it 'the public's right to know'

Keep your pish... I've got more than I can use.

Interesting. I noticed a blogger linked to this post, and said, "This is a real-world retcon in action, and I want to find out:

    1) when did the U.S. Supreme Court tour guides begin making this misrepresentation,
    2) how were they instructed to distort history, and
    3) who directed them to commit this retcon?"

Lost in all this is the question as to WHETHER the tour guides are misrepresenting anything at all, or whether the story is bogus. The blogger assumes it's true, without fact checking.

But it's a simple, verifiable question. Anyone live near D.C. ?Want to take a tour and find out for us? I put my money on "bogus."

I have a cartoon hanging in my office at home. Two guys are standing outside the door to the History Department of a local university. There is a sign hanging on the door that says "Closed for revision".
