    Mmm-hmm.

Hey, I accidentally saw Jack Van Impe (sp?) and Co. this morning. He, and many others, would argue that Jesus can NOT come back yet, 'cause, you know, the stuff hasn't lined up just right yet. I think jack said it would be around 2010 to 2017 or something like that.

I like Van Impe. He likes to speculate as to when it could happen, but he never comes out and says it is happening on such-n-such a day. He always makes clear that according to Jesus' own words we CAN know the time it is near, though not specifically the day or hour.

His latest offering is a exposition on the date December 21, 2012. He's not setting a date, only examining the History Channel's 6 hour special some months back that explored various prognosticators and prophets who all point to December 21, 2012 as being the 'end of the world.' Van Impe posits that something momentous MAY indeed happen on that day, but it won't be the end of the world because according to the Bible the world will never end.

Interestingly enough, the Mayan calendar mysteriously ends on December 21, 2012.

    Okay, just for fun...

This preacher was giving his sermon and doing a great job. He was enthusiastic and delivering the sermon well and with great conviction. He was approaching the sure-to-be stirring climax of the sermon and he echoed Jesus' words, "Behold, I come quickly!..." when suddenly, his mind went blank.

He stuttered for a minute, trying to recall where he was going next, and, with nothing coming to mind, he repeated the last line, hoping it would jumpstart his memory.

"Behold, I come quickly!..." he yelled. But nothing came to his mind.

Trying one more time, he repeated,

"Behold, I come quickly!!!" with such energy and enthusiasm that he through himself OFF the podium into the lap of a little old lady in the front row.

    "Well," she said, "I can't say I wasn't warned..."
