EL is Über Sick....

It began Wednesday but I plodded on, working two jobs each day... refusing to be sick but only getting sicker. Now I am too sick to go to work next week. Antibiotics are out of the question since they wreak more havoc than help. I stayed away from church this morning, and will again tonight, because I'm not going to spread my germs any further. I wish I had been this thoughtful about spreading my germs/virus to my coworkers. God forgive me.

    Okie prayers aloft!

I was sick all through my vacation week before last. The current bug, they say, takes three days to get, three days of suffering and three days to get over. That was exactly what happened to me.

Healing, Lord, and comfort, please, for my friend EL!

Thank you friend ER. And I mean that... Thank you FRIEND, even though we disagree on some serious and not so serious issues.

Wow! Just had my first extended, lung wrenching, sludge-disturbing, hacking cough. Where there's one, hundreds will follow. I've called in sick for the next two days, though it looks as though I may have to extend my convalescence.

I'm beau coups feverish, but I can still type. And as far as I can tell I'm still coherent.

ER, don't you know you aren't allowed to be sick on vacation?!

Sorry you are so sick, EL. I prayed for you (and your co-workers) as well.

Find something funny. Laughter is one of the best ways to bring up fluid in the lungs. It also causes an immediate boost to the immune system.

    Try This

EL, this is a crazy world. I've never shaken yer hand, but I feel as if I know you as well as I know most of the people I see every day.

And as a feloow cantankerous brother in Christ, I have to say I love you.

And as busy and screwed up as my own life is right now, you keep popping to mind -- and I breathe a prayer for you every time, for whatever it's worth.

I know a bunch of people. But I really have few friends. I count you among them -- !! -- and while I would never pray that you see things I do, I do pray, in Jesus' name, that you have a measure of peace and comfort during your illness.

And, you: Cowboy up. It ain't over 'til it's over. :-)

    Get your strength. Race on.
