This world is one big game of "Go"-- Black against White, Light against Darkness --and we all have a choice to make: Do we war FOR the Light?
...or against it?
Were it not that Barack Obama is a Most Dangerous Man.
Mr. Alan Keyes
If you feel strongly for Alan Keyes candidacy then promote your favorite candidate. Sean Hannity and Neal Boortz and Rush Limbaugh care more about a GOP win than which candidate is best for the country. They are pegged to the fortunes of conservatism. Long ago you said you wanted to see clear and not be swayed by marketing and peoples biases. Well start here. Stop listening to message men. Disregard the petty negative stories each side drags forward about the other. Promote the candidate and policies you think will grow our country. That's how you stay clear-headed and uninfluenced in an election season.
Tell me more about what Alana Keyes believes. What policies does he support and oppose? What has he done? That would be a more interesting post than a repeat of what I can get at Michelle Malkin's site.
I like Keyes. Always have. I think he scares because of his strongly held principles, most, if not all of which, darn near everyone claims to hold themselves. He is unwavering. Now, I have to admit not being totally familiar with his every position. But I do know that I agree with every position on which I've heard him speak.
Where I agree with Bent, is that I don't know enough, and I definitely don't know how Keyes would hope to go about seeing his vision come to pass. I'm also aware that he has a sad track record for drawing support. He's never won any election of import of which I am aware.
In the end, McCain is our only hope for keeping Obama out of the White House. And that's really the issue upon which conservatives/Republicans need to focus. We, unfortunately, cannot stand on principle as far as voting for someone who aligns with our principles, but we can stand on the principle of denying he who is diametrically opposed to our principles. An Obama win will be disasterous without question. He is totally unsuited for the gig.
I don’t know who will be our next President but for sure he will be the worse one since Clinton if we are lucky, the worst one since Carter if we are not or the worst one since Johnson if its Obama.
By the way I want to plug your post “The Audacity of the Democrats” because I don’t think it got enough attention. It was the best post I have read in a long time.
Man, we've had nearly eight years of the Crown King of Dumbtalk on the throne and people elected him (sell, sort of; once, maybe). If talking dumb was all it took to not get elected, we'd be much better off. Alas...
I disagree with every one of these points. 1)No captured foreign terrorists have ever tried to enter the country through the southern border. 2)Vigilantes are anathema to an ordered society. 3)Our southern border is longer than Iraq's entire border. If our military can't seal Iraq, there is no way we can seal the US-Mexico border.
One of the best videos I ever saw was an episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit! where they looked at illegal immigration. Illegal Hispanic immigrants have less crime than the rest of American society. They have stronger moral values. They contribute more to the economy than they require in services.
The best segment though was when they went to a Home Depot and hired some day laborers to build a 30 foot section of fence like the Minutemen are trying to build. It took the workers all day to put up the two ply sheet metal siding and barbed wire on top. Then when it was done Penn asked the workers to go under, over and through the fence. The three guys going over were over in less than a minute. The three going under took 1:27. The guys going through with nothing but a pair of pliers went through two layers of sheet metal in less than two minutes.
The only way to secure our southern border is to grow the Mexican and Central American economies until they are on parity with the United States. Until then we might as well allow anyone into the country that wants to enter. That would at least save the lives of people unprepared to cross the desert.
