It's Dead! And the American people still have a voice!

Now begins the Liberal war ON that voice... on Free Speech and the First Amendment.

Let's talk about McCain-Feingold. After all, what is McCain-Feingold if not a blatant hypocrisy and the abridgement of our First Amendment right to free speech? What kind of government stifles political speech? Oh, that's right! Castro. Saddam. Hitler. Pol Pot. Mao. STALIN!

Now let's talk about all the hoopla in the Senate about reviving the "Fairness" Doctrine. One political ideology cries foul and demands censureship of another because they can't compete in the arena of ideas? Sounds a lot like McCain-Feingold. Sounds a lot like Castro. Saddam. Hitler. Pol Pot. Mao. Sounds a lot like Senator's Durbin, Feinstein, Clinton... Stalin.

Sounds like a lot of hypocrites crying about being unable to get their unpalatable message out to people who can't stomach 3 hours of tripe 5 days a week.

I say hypocrites because these folks swore on a bible to uphold... to DEFEND... the Constitution of the United States of America, WHICH! I shouldn't have to explain to anyone here, clearly affirms every citizens right to speak their peace. However, there is NO guarantee in the Constitution that ANY message should reach ears turned deaf to the ideologies they extol. Profit determines what stays on air, NOT the Constitution. And CERTAINLY not at the EXPENSE of the Constitution.

Oh! But the airwaves belong to the Public! Congress has a right to regulate them... Right?

    Wrong.

Congress REPRESENTS the Public. WE are the Public. And we proved that today! The very fact that more than a few in the Senate openly talk about reviving an unconstitutional doctrine... one that denies The PUBLIC from listening to the ideas that matter most to them, SHOULD be enough to show every American where these politicians loyalties truly lie. This so-called "Fairness" Doctrine would put hundreds if not thousands of talk-radio stations out of the "Talk" business. THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is censureship.

If Liberalism can't compete in a money/profit driven medium perhaps they should ask themselves why? What is it about their ideology that turns so many Americans off? Why did Air America crash and burn?
Quite frankly? NO one wants to listen to 3 hours of hate and craziness from the likes of Franken, Rhodes, and Garafalo.

    But let's go back...

McCain-Feingold favors incumbents and squashes a contender's ability to get his/her message out. McCain-Feingold makes it all but unlikely that an incumbent will lose his/her election... UNLESS! Unless he or she goes too far.

For instance... John McCain. Stick a fork in him ladies and gentlemen! He's done... As a presidential contender, and as a Senator.

The very same way McCain-Feingold killed free speech in the political arena, so too will the "Fairness" Doctrine kill free speech on AMERICA's-- not their --airwaves.

We showed those hypocrites who's the boss today. But get ready to show them again when they try to squash YOUR right to listen to what you want.

Ask instead if they intend to extend the "Fairness" Doctrine to the CBS Evening News? To NBC? ABC? MSNBC? CNN? The New York Times editorial page? The Washington Post? PBS!!!!?? C-SPAN!!!!!????

Of course not! They want to stifle "Conservative" free speech. Which makes them all more dangerous. All the more tyrannical. All the more out of touch with the Constitution, the First Amendment, and their Oaths of Office. All the more out of touch with the American People. All the more hypocritical.

    Stalin would be proud!

This is a democratic republic at work. The politicians ignored the polls upon which they so love to lean, so the people made phone calls. This morning it was said that the phone banks crashed from the volume of calls. In the end, enough politicians got the message and voted according to the wishes of the people. Of course, not the two buffoonish senators from my state, Obama and Durbin, because they know everything.

Now, of course, it is being said that nothing will happen until after the next election. Well then, we'll have to make sure we all vote in people to replace these who are too worried about getting re-elected that they'll sit on their hands.

If they truly want to remain senators, they need to get busy crafting much more simple bills beginning with funding the construction of a fence longer than previously discussed. Seal the border NOW!

Then, they can pass legislation that allows law enforcement to question the citizenship of those suspected of not being citizens. You know the ones about which I speak: the guy pulled over for drunken driving who speaks no English, has no insurance, and his license is suspicious. When he cops to being illegal, ship him out.

While this is going on, craft a bill that gives employers the means to check the citizenship of job applicants, and severely punish those who insist on hiring illegals.

When it can be certified that the influx of foreign invaders has been slowed by at least 80%, then we can field ideas about what to do with whatever number of interlopers are still here.

Remember, never think your call to your represntative does no good.

It should go without saying that Reid (and Pelosi) and many others within the Democratic Party feel they have the far-left to thank for their meteoric rise (and likely soon meteoric fall), and so they pay very close attention to these kooks.

Take this post from the Daily Kos on Monday...

Fairness Doctrine Must Be Returned To Radio Airwaves

These dangerous idiots have either not heard of the First Amendment, or worse, they don't care. If their ideas suck, why should the Public be forced to listen to them. Do these idiots think that Limbaugh would be as successful as he is if he sucked? If his ideas didn't resonate with a great number of millions of listeners? The simple fact is the folks at the Daily Kos and elsewhere want to live in a pseudo-Stalinist government. These dangerous idiots aren't content with 90% of Mainstream Media, including the daily rags, but now they don't even want their political opponents... their ideological betters... the ability to espouse their own ideas on the "Public" airwaves.

Dangerous Idiots. Bonafide Fools. Charlatans and traitors to their Constitutional birth-right.

Fairness Doctrine. As if they don't have the means to get out their message and ideas, whatever the hell that might be. John Kerry spoke on it. He spent a whole campaign saying nothing and he's whining about fairness. We STILL don't know what his "plan" was, except to win the presidency.

The talk radio they fear was born out of the frustration of never hearing any but the leftists' versions of events. Once one guy started up, people flocked to him to hear what they knew was truthful and honest and a reflection of their own feelings. Then others of like minds began to broadcast and the listenership grew even more. The left tried to copy the game plan, but it failed for them and continues to fail, in some part due to the mass of left leaning media already out there.

But here's the key: you don't need a fairness doctrine. You need to appeal to the masses with truthful messages. The people will hear it and know it and they will want to hear more. That's how it happened for conservative talkers. You've now got a populace that's truly engaged in the process as this amnesty bill failure has shown. Appeal to them with the truth and they'll respond. Shine 'em on with crap and the right-wing pundits and bloggers will expose your lies. How much better can it be expected to work?
